there of very similar quality....mia has the advantage with inputs because they are 1/4 " balanced....audiophile has unbalanced rca's......

What's your budget? Maybe we could offer up a couple more names in your price range.

I have a Mia and find it to be excellent.... but I think any card in the $200 price range is going to give you equivilent results.

The nice feature of the Mia is the "virtual outs" which allow you to run multiple programs at the same time and not have them fight for the soundcard output. The 1/4" balanced input and output jacks are another nice feature and the S/PDIF is also great.

ALWAYS check with the manufacturer to see if your motherboard/CPU is compatible with their products before buying... the Mia used to have big problems with the VIA mobos and I don't know if they have that sorted out yet. There's an FAQ on their website of known compatibility problems. I run a pure Intel chipset so I don't have any problems.

thnaks for the help ya'll. I'm kinda in the 2-3 hundred dollar range I suppose. I'm actually trying to make it as plug and play as possible. I want quick recording. I write like a madman and so far, only a four track has done the quick and simple task of capturing all the stuff that pours out daily. I'm beggining to drown in the back log of cassette tapes. I'm becoming disorginized and my arranging methods are lacking.

Any advice?
