Hi,

I just bought a used Echo Mia sound card. When I got home I plugged it in my AMD K6/2 500 MHZ computer. Since the minimum system requirements were not satisfied, my computer crashed, I had to reinstall windows 98se. It is kind of a weird reaction isn't it?

Regards,

Thierry

Sounds like you already had problems in the computer.

(I've been using a Mia for the last 1.5 years... first in a PII-400Mhz and now in a P4-2.4Ghz.... great card WHEN you put it in a proper system.)

Why is it a weird reaction when you know you didn't follow their guidelines?

Just follow what they tell you (Via chipsets KT133 and up for AMD, Intel for Intel) and you'll be fine.

production based soundcards are very picky about drivers, chipsets, the whole works...

i had an echo MIA a year back, the thing blew on me, and thats why i got my M-audio delta 44 :)

MIA is a good card no doubt when you can get it all working
make sure you look at hardware specs for what it needs next time :P

peace
