i just ordered the Echo Mia Sound Card..it says that it comes with Cool Edit Pro, but it Cool Edit Pro is 399$, so i am assuming it isn't the full version...does anyone know what i'll be getting? thanks a lot..

the Cool Edit Pro it ships with is a limited version...i think its limited to 10 tracks with no effects.....

i did find out from another thread that newer units are shipping with Cubasis VST......

Cubasis VST...but remember, better is a subjective word, and will vary from person to person...im still not sure what version of Cubasis it is that ships so that may be a factor....

well, i already have Cool Edit Pro Full...so hope i have the option to disregard whichever programs it comes with..those bloody programmers, always infiltrating my computer with their bollocks. :) thanks Gidge

yes, you can install the card and drivers without installing the software.....

It is the limited edition. Play with it, but it wasn't that great for me (subjective decision). Always try out demos of sequencers to make sure they fit in your workflow and style.... you won't get anything done if your fighting your main software.

I use N-track Studio with my Mia/SBLive combo.

By the way.... you DID check with Echo's FAQ section to make sure that your motherboard is compatible with a MIA before you ordered it??????

i'm pretty sure it'll be compatible..my computer is only a year old...thanks for the response and concern..

AGE does not matter... it's the chips that are in the computer!

Unfortunately, the processors and motherboards in the PC world are NOT totally 100% compatible with each other. In particular, AMD cpus and VIA motherboards have known compatibility problems with many other devices including soundcards. There is a specific list on the Echo FAQs that specifys the motherboards that WILL NOT WORK with a Mia.

ALWAYS check to make sure your purchase is compatible before you order a pheripheral.
