Whyte Ice

The Next Vanilla Ice
Anyone in here own an ebow?
If so, how do you like it?
how much experience do you have with it?
how often do you use it?
ever gave the ebow a part in a song you wrote?
was it easy for you to learn?

One of my friends has one...It sounds cool as hell, and he's pretty good at it, but i can't play it worth shit...I haven't checked the price lately, but didn't they used to be like $80? If I saw one used for a decent price I'd pick one up just for another "color" that might get used in a song or something, but I wouldn't pay more than maybe $30...YMMV

Good luck on finding anything cheaper than $50.

Used to be $80, that's a good price. Here in England the cheapest I could get one was £100 ($150 ish). They were in the shop for £110. You don't know how lucky you are in America for getting things cheap.

Anyway the EBow:
I love mine. I could get into detail but why not just do a search (keyword=ebow). We have covered this in the past, all you need to do is dig it up. There have been a few threads I believe.

I use the ebow. It goes in spurts, sometimes I'll be using it all the time, and sometimes for weeks not at all. IF you are already a good guitar player, it adds a whole new set of sounds you can create. To a new guitar player, an Ebow can just create frustration and get in the way of the learning process, imo.

Whyte Ice,
Here's a crummy quality mp3 clip of Ebow on acoustic, yes ACOUSTIC, guitar. It was recorded with an AKG 414 and a John Hardy pre onto 2" tape, but nobody could tell by the quality of this mp3, but I hope it gives a different idea of what is possible with this cool little toy.

peace.
