..for those of you with more modest cash flow, check out the MXL V76t that I'm offering...based on the original V77, this one comes with a vintage NOS GE 5-star 6072A tube (same tube found in many of the high-end classic tube mics)...it's a steal at $150...great for both vocals and instrument tracking...here's the link:

if any of you record female vocals, I encourage you to check out a V77 ASAP.

i used recorded a female singer/songwriter type (think Jewel--acoustic guitar and vocals) last night and the V77 was the perfect mic for her voice. she was blown away by the sound, and that just makes it all the better.

obviously the same mic won't work for all voices, but i couldn't think of a better starting place for a female vocals (except maybe a nice ribbon). this mic just has a stunning subtle beauty to it.

i'll post a link to one of the songs if/when i get her permission.

I have been looking for one V77S on eBay, but didn't pick up that listing! Not that I don't respect eBay rules, but if the seller is on this forum, I would be glad to talk with them.
