Hi All: recorded these this afternoon in a thunder storm. It gave me lots of inspiration. Songs are everywhere. I could go insane if I got to focused on just how many an hour are running by me. Walter

You are an amazing talent, Walter. But I think you are stealing/absorbing all of the cosmic forces which allow people to write songs....because of you, a hundred others sit looking out the window, pen in hand :)

Keep it up, brother.

thanks strat1958 for the compliment! IMO most people get stuck with writing songs because they are concerned with how it will sound before they ever start. Rules, rules, rules, jam the creative flow. I just sing. When one has no idea of what will come out, and it is coming out via inspiration, and it feels good, then that is a song. It is that simple. A song is just a reflection of a dream, event, feeling, or combination of all this and more. There is no right or wrong. I often cite Gwen Davis, an austistic young woman who writes some great poetry, and I back her with music. Her songs rarely go past 50 seconds and are very repetititve with consistent incorrect grammer. It makes her feel good. That makes me feel good, and most who listen to it. the thinking side of the brain will analyize everything to the point of failure, that we can easily be convinced that the endeavor is not even worth trying. Most great inventors shared the same thing- excitement about trying things that their head knows may fail, but their heart continues pumping with never ending endurance, knowing that they will succeed, and it is the unknown journey that is the real high. When one starts thinking from the outset of the rules, and outcome, then a song can easily never get off the ground. It is a lot easier to just do it. Thinking about where it will go, how it will be accepted, even to yourself, is a almost guaranteed log jam. Walter
