I'm thinking...something like ITunes, without all the extra loaded CRAP that ITUNES has with it! haha.

I have 25+ Folders of artists I've recorded, with sometimes multiple sub folders of albums/EPs/B-sides they've recorded here - most 24-bit wavs, some 16-bit. I want to be able to just open a program, browse, and play whatever I want! hahaha...

Anyway my question is, is there a program like that which can do this minimally (no super fancy graphics required, or links to "buy this online", etc. etc.).

If there isn't, does anyone thing I-Tunes is a terrible thing to put on my recording DAW (note, I also edit video with this..and use the net..email...AIM...haha....so really maybe it isn't a complete DAW).

If you're on a mac, why can't you just switch the views to the third icon?
This one will toss up a preview of any graphic file you select (1 click), and will play your audio files w/quicktime within the same window. You can then listen to your heart's content without opening any applications at all.

iTunes works a'ight, but it sucks about the built-in, all but unorganizable, file management it (and iPhoto) employ.

Otherwise check on http://www.tucows.com for some shareware players. There are a few there that can serve your needs, but...

...if it was me, I'd use the method listed above. I prefer not to open shit just to listen to a wav or aiff file on my computer.

Hope that helps.

(i guess if you got a mac you already know this, but maybe not...)

good call, but alas - i'm on PC. haha.

I just figured i'd give Itunes as an example because we use it at school a lot...

ok i'll have to check some crap out though, any else with ideas?

Winamp 5, change to the winamp classic skin. Can't go wrong.

can i get the lite version or must i go for the "powerful media library" version? haha.

Get the light if you definately only want to listen to mp3s on your computer. Otherwise get the full version. The only difference between that and the bundle version is the bundle " Includes an MP3 of "California Rain" by Silvertide". The full version is only a 4.3MB download anyway!

aight, i just didnt want a bunch of extra poop on my computer if at all possible. it looks pretty lite still though, thanks my man.
