ive got a disc of music, a 45 minute live set all recorded as one track. i'd like to know how to separate the set into individual tracks, so it will show up on cd players as, say 14 tracks, rather that one. ive done it alot on cd artitech, but i cant quite figure it out on cool edit. thanks

Open your big track. With the mouse, highlight each individual tune, cut it and then paste as new. Name the individual track and save it as a .wav. Then in your burning software just drop the wavs in the play order you want and you're set. This way say if it was a live show, the CD playback will be seamless even though you can select individual tracks.

man im feeling dumb but...

when i load a sound recording into cool edit, it only seems to go to the bottom of the screen and play like a . is there a special way to get the sound to display as sound waves so i can edit it?

Im not sure how you "load a sound" but if you click File > Import. You should be able to get the clip up and drag it onto the multitrack view or double click it for the edit waveform view. Hope this works.

Oh yea. Make sure you have your "Organizer" window open before doing this.
(window>organizer)
