Earthworks SR69, whaddayousay?

I saw a review of this mic in a Swedish magazine. The verdict is "almost too accurate" and it's listed as costing around $350...
So, OK, I'm drooling. What do you say guys? Anybody used this, whats your verdict? I'm definitely thinking about getting one of these. I like accuracy, as a principle, and have longed for the day I can get a matched pair of TC30K's, although I really have no usage for it. But maybe the SR69 does almost as good a job?

I have a matched pair of QTC1s, and an SR71 (similar to the SR69, I think)
The QTC1s are great.....transparency is definitely my Holy Grail, and I am completely satisfied. They are so realistic sounding, that you can tell what color of pick is being used on the guitar

The SR71 is about 98% as transparent, and cost a lot less. If I had known about the small difference before I ordered the QTC1s, I probably would have saved some cash and just bought a pair of SR71s. I suspect that All the Earthworks mikes are very similar on this transparency characteristic. The main tradeoffs seem to be self-noise and sensitivity (and of course cardioid vs. omni)

I tried quite a few popular mid-priced mikes before settling on these. I don't talk about them much, because I want it to be my little recording secret !

The only difference between the SR71 and SR69 I can find is that the SR69 comes with a screw on windshield, but there must be others, cuz the SR69 is $100 cheaper... Earthworks would need a good overview over their mics and their differences on their website.
The windshield also makes the mic look more like an ordinary vocal mic, and not an alien nasal probe.
On the other hand, it's a nice high-tech 60's feeling in singing into a mic like the earthworks mics. You get the feeling you really need to croon into the mic, and extend your little finger. "Do you know the way to San José?"
They don't seem to have matched stereo pairs for their cheaper mics either, sadly.

I'll continue to long for the day when I actually would have use of a pair of gold standard matched pair QTC1s. Mmmm... Only $3000 cheap...
