Does anyone here use the E-MU 1280m? It comes with Cubase vst and Wavelite. I am starting to feel like I wasted 500+ bucks in something not very user friendly. Any help???
how much of the on-disk manual have you read? I read the patchmix dsp before I plugged anything in and i haven't run into a single problem. I love my 1820. What in particular are you having a problem with?
Peace,
Rafe
If you're talking mainly about Cubase, I can sympathize. I was a Cuabse user for a while and thought it was tough, even with that sorry excuse for a quick start guide.
The sound card itself, though, I think it makes a good deal of sense. OTOH, if does take a while to realize some of the simple things that are, well, simple for other sound cards, like adding ASIO channels as inserts on the hardware channels and having to start a new patchmix session if you want to move between 44/46 and 96 or 192 khz resolution. After a few days I was happily moving through the Patchmix...
I joined that forum and got great tips! But someone suggested to read the manual that came with E-MU for Cubase tutorials and sorry to say, the only thing that I got in the box was instalation manual, no Cubase manual or anything else. I guess I will have a long read (once I find it) and until then still use my Fostex VF160. My ultimate goal is to be able to do all I do in the Fostex directly to the pc.
I remember in Cubase 5 VST that there was a manual in PDF form on the setup disk. I don't suppose that one is available on the E-mu disk as well? I'll have to check this once I get home...which won't be for a while, though...
Go to your search engine and type in 1820m forum. There are a couple of forums just for people like you and me that wonder why the heck there were no manuals with this product.
