e-mu 1212m with cooledit

does anybody use these two together? i cant seem to get the program to record and pick up my mic...
 
Make sure you've got the thing selected in Options/Device Settings/Recording Devices. Also make sure that WIndows mixer recognizes the thing. Try ticking the box "Try as WDM Device" or unticking it, to see what works. This can be frustrating, and you just have to go through all the steps to make sure the device is actually installed and recognized. Don't forget to check Device Manager.
 
seems like i tried everything and i still cant get it to work....i use it thru a mackie 1402vlzpro mixer....is there certain buttons i need to push on the mackie so i can record thru cooledit?? i have no idea why its not working..i even setup the patchmix and everything..can somebody please help me???
 
Correction: see my response to the immediate post below. It's Options/Device Order/Wave In [or Wave Out]. You have to map the I/O just like you map the route to a photo folder or whatever.
