hey all, i posted this in the cubase forum but it might be more appropriate here.... . here's the problem :

i bought an E-MU 0404 USB so i could connect my Vox Tonelab le directly through the optical SP/dif ports. i have connected this & am receiving sound but the problem is i can't record the sound for some reason.

i can record the sound through the mic inputs but apparently not from the sp/dif input.

i read in some notes that came with the E-MU that you have to use a program such as cubase le to be able to record the sp/dif. i have installed cubase le & tried to record the guitar but failed to record any sound again.

can anybody help me configure this?

thanks in advance

maybe this will help

Hi - I'm at work so I'm going from part memory and part speculation - I'll check back and if you still haven't got it I'll see what i can find out.

I believe that in Windows you first need to make sure that EMU SPDIF is set as your default sound card. I've seen windows override the recording software's settings. In your recording software look for audio hardware settings. I'm not familiar with Cubase, but I'm sure you can find this in Preferences or Options or something. Again, make sure that EMU SPDIF is set as the default input.

Those are the basic things to check I think. Hope this helps.
