DVD Ripping software

I've not posted in a while and I'm not sure where this belongs exactly, so I thought I'd start here.

I have a dvd videos with me playing on it and I'd like to take the video and audio off, save it to my video file and upload it to some video sites.

I spent a good amount of time this weekend downloading so-called dvd rippers and then uninstalling them as they weren't working or left some malewares upon the uninstall...tons o' fun.

So I hope someone can point me in the right direction tosome software that works.

Note that this will only rip the DVD. VLC will play the raw files, but you might want to encode them for uploading, etc. Try Handbrake for this here.

NCH software makes a number of decent conversion utilities. Prism will rip a DVD to just about any format you'd like, including audio only.
