Does anybody out there use DVD for storing files on your computer? What does anybody have to say about this because it is obvious that you can store much more data than in a standard cd r....

Works well, can hold just under 4gb of data. Burners are single-speed, so the wait is fun. :) Pulling data off of them seems much slower to me than cd-rom but maybe that's just a perception, I haven't measured it exactly.

How about a Magneto/Optical drive (think really big minidisk!) We use them at work. A 9.1GB disk is only about $100, and the drive is about $2,000!
Or you could just buy a cr*pload of cheap CD-Rs!
(back to work for me!)

but i think it is more convenient to fill a dvd than 6 cdrs, also if you look at it, for storing lets say music sessions, i would rather store them in 6 dvds for a total of 24 G than in 27 cdrs!!!!!or not!!!!!!
