Another one of my recordings.

Band: Dust
Song: Twenty

I'm getting better able to appreciate harder music thanks to S8-N's mp3's..the only thing my inexperienced ear finds lacking in this is the bottom...I'd like to hear some bass tones...incidently the bassist is some kinda good.......gibs

I still cant though to Juston... Bastrds...

Thought the recording sounded nice and the tune had some nice stuff going on- but it's just not my cup of tea, musically.
Are these guys satanists or Jesus freaks?

Gibs - Because of their tuning down and the effects on the guitar, putting much more low end to the mix would muddy it up. I was trying to get as much definition out of it as I could.

drstawl - These guys are Jesus freaks.

Thanks for the honest reviews.

i THOUGHT THAT THIS MIX WAS much BETTER THAN flax... Ooops... Caps lock was in...
Anyway... Uh... The band sucked... They were sloppy. The material that they were attempting to play was fairly complex and a band would have to be super tight to pull it off. They didnt quite pull it off.
The drum sound was great, with good hard panning on the cymbals...
Its really hard to focus on the mix when the band is that annoying... But it sounded good.
Good production... Bad band.
I guess I'll never be a pro studio engineer because It would probably be bad for business to stop a band in the middle of their session and say "sorry, guys... you suck... get out."
Not much repeat business.

S8-N, don't worry about bad bands when you become a pro engineer. By that time you will be charging too much money for crappy bands to even think about stepping foot in your studio. I have since improved my studio and raised my prices, so I hope to attract better musicians. I friend once told me, "You can't polish a turd."

<Hey, I have an idea for a new post!>

This song was done with their old guitar player. Now that I think about it, he did not care much for the tunes himself; therefore, I do not think he put his best into the recording. The band's new lineup does sond much better. You can check out their web site and decide for yourself. BTW, I did not do the recordings posted on their page.
