dumb tube mic question help!

ok, i know i'll sound like a newbie, or maybe just a dummy, but i just got my first tube mic (used them plenty in OTHER people's studios and love them) -- an AT-4060.

my dumb question:

the mic has its power supply, but after that, can i (or should i) ALSO go into a mic pre? or straight into my recorder?

i just never thought about it until i set the thing up.

Yes , you must use preamp . ( turn off the phantom power of the preamp )

By the way , you must turn on power and let mic warm up for at least half an hour before using .
