I have got one of these today. The box which conncts to the T3 has an XLR mic output.
Now here comes the dumb bit..
Does this go to the pre amp?

Thanks!!

(I thought maybe there was some gain circuitry there) old age sets in!!

Whilst I'm asking dumb questions...
Has anyone got one of these mics?
Can you recommend any settings?

I have a focusrite green voicebox which I'm now going to hook it up to!!!

Which setting would you use for vocals?

Thanks again!!

Best vocal settings

So....with thanks to Steven Lindsey......

I tried the mic today. There seem to be three basic patterns and some inbetweens. Omni figure of 8 and cardiod.

Of the three cardiod sounded best for vocals, I don't know what you would use the others for!!! No doubt that's been discussed at great length here! The ambiguous diagrams did not tie down the correct orientation of the patterns. I assume there all at right angles to the plane of the diaphragm.

It sounded very nice through my focusrite.

I'll bet it does sound nice. Nice mic and nice amp you've got there. I'm sure you'll get all the patterns figured out shortly and make some good music. Hope you get a lot of enjoyment from your toys!

Actually, there are only two distinct polar patterns (omni/pressure, and figure 8/pressure gradient). All the other patterns are a mix of those two patterns, with cardioid being exactly half and half.
