it sounded starngely dissonent but it worked....I liked it

very raw...like a one take jam, but again it worked

Id stick a bit of compression on the vocals but other than that keep experimenting :)

thanks man...that was the vibe i was going for. i close mic'd things like the dulcimer and guitar, but went direct with the bass and then went for distance on the other acoustic and accordion. there's a few tracks on 'blue' where joni mitchell uses the dulcimer to really good effect...its an airy instrument and i think in a simple arrangement other instruments mix nice with it :)

Hi Adam,
Yeah, I quite like this actually, maybe because it reminds me of some of the quite weird stuff I used to listen to in the very early 70s when I was but a mere youngster (they were days of much experimentation and freedom from musical boundaries!).

I use lots of different instruments myself, so I can see exactly where you're coming from and as well as anything else, it's less boring than using the same instruments over and over again like most people do.

Your track is dissonant but that's why I find it quite interesting and it scoots around to the side of the obvious.

Ayway, keep experimenting and you'll have lots of fun while coming up with some unusual ideas, which even if you don't feel always work completely, it's great experience for future dabblings and will maybe even lead to coming up with your own original sound (which sadly, most people don't have!).

Dreamer

Thanks for taking the time to listen and for letting me know your thoughts :)
