Trying our best to manufacture noiseless ducting
'mncheetah' & 'gidman'
Sorry I didn't see your replies until recently......
Well thanx for responding
'mncheetah'
What phase of construction are you in now? Have you fired up the system yet? How is it working out?? Any noise? Any restrictions in the supply or return as a result of your design?
And I see that 'gidman' also addressed this issue of creating a minimum noise duct system........
But 'gidman' (senoir member), can you provide any photos as
mncheetah did illustrating his design??
You mentioned:
"hard board duct and baffles will be an option." (since I have NO room for S turns in the duct )
"I had flex duct in the attic and put hard board toward the ends of the ducts, and I installed 4 baffles in them staggered about 6" apart on the last 2 feet of the duct. One receiver in each room, two in the control room, return duct in the hall. I keep the
receiver directed at the wall to keep them from blowing onto any mics. For the return air I left enough space under the door to let the air return. The doors to the rooms are about 6' apart and connect through a hall way. I haven't had any problem with sound bleeding or whoosing noises."
I'm thinking about copying mncheetah's design (his photos were VERY ILLUSTRATIVE)
And in my situation, I will probably have conventional feeds and returns in each isolation room. But perhaps I can take your advice and direct the feed toward the wall (locate the feed port near the wall) (away from the mics) yes?
How would you compare your system of baffles (above), to what
mncheetah showed here:

I can easily see his design - and copy it ...........
Would you be able to show me photographically what you're talkng about too?
Thank you - 'mncheetah' & 'gidman'
Mike
