Hello,

I seem to remember reading that anything above 64MB RAM is wasted when using N-Track. Also, I think I read somewhere that N-Track doesn't support dual processors in NT.

Is this really correct?

Thanks

All multithreaded applications will take advantage of multiple processors in NT. How the application utilizes threads will of course have a large impact though.

I do know that n-Track uses threads to some extent, especially in the interface. You should see an improvement gain with two processors.

Also, 64MB isn't necessarily wasted...it depends on what other software you're using. But n-Track isn't a memory hog, and its buffers are small so a lot of memory doesn't help. This is true of all multitracking applications that deal with audio alone (e.g. midi loops/samples will use up memory). I would suggest 128MB just to be safe...you want to basically eliminate that a swap is going to jerk your audio for even a fraction of a second. I've found 128MB to be adequate in 95/98/NT4/2000.
