Is it possible to hook up another monitor with my computer?

It is Dell Inspiron 1150. I have three computer monitors which are for desktops. One is a gateway, one is a hp, and the other I dont know but, its old.

Basically can I hook desktop monitor to a laptop?

What kind of graphics card do you have? If the graphics card has either a DVI, or CRT connection then it would (should) be possible.

i tried looking it up your computer on Dell web-site, but kept getting server errors. Most Laptops (this is what Dell shows this model to be) have a vga port/ connector on the back. You should be able to hook another monitor to that. Then you need to go into display properties and set it up to use both monitors.

That's how i do it with my Sager 5600, and I also use a program called Ultramon. It allows me to use my 19" LCD as my primary monitor. I then have one program open on my LCD, and another open on my laptop.

Do a search on Google for more info on this matter, just read, read, read. It's actually pretty easy.

As long as your laptop has a VIDEO OUT, you should be able to hook up an external monitor.

But...... as Ingoloid has previously stated, you will need to get a program that will allow you to view seperate things on the two monitors.

If you have the money, I'm sure that have an adapter that would connect to your FireWire, USB, or PCMCIA slot that would allow you to have two monitors.

Do a search and some reading on Google. ;)
