I have been running PA9 on a Win98 machine and just installed Win2000 on the same box in a dual boot config. If I load Sonar on the Win2000 config, can I open the same WRK files I created in PA9 without screwing up their compatibility with PA9? Or should I just finish what projects I've started in PA9 and move on to the new stuff with Sonar?

Thanks in advance.

I'd say your pretty safe to do that.

BUT.

Give the file a new name when you exit (or don't save it) - i.e. don't overwrite the file name that you are using with PA9.

Try it out on one song first. Reboot to win9X and see if it messed anything up.

BTW, I have no idea whether sonar can open up PA9 files(I use steinberg products). It would be pretty dismal on twelve tone if it couldn't. Give it a go.

PA9 .wrk files open just fine in Sonar. I haven't tried going the other way.

As of Sonar 1.3 the new file format is clearly different than PA9.
