DSP16 from Akai

In doing further investigating into a DAW similar to the Yamaha AW4416 I found the Akai DSP16 workstation. It advertises 24/96 recording, but only 15 hours at that bit/sample rate. The big surprise is that If you record 16 tracks of 24/96 you can only playback 6 tracks at the sametime. I think these DAW dream machines are being marketed incorrectly.

six tracks only? that kind of defeats the purpose of a sixteen track recorder! does that mean only six tracks can be mastered to the final mix? if so then its only really a six track...this just seems a little wierd
 
IMHO 24 bit linear (non compressed) recording capability is more important than 96khz sampling rate,in the sense that the improvement of 24 over 16 is more apparent than that of 96khz over 44.1 or 48 khz. So buy the Yamaha already!!
