does the additional DSP worth an extra 50 euros (65 dollars) ? I know it stands for Digital Signal Processing, but what's the advantage of it in vocal and instruments recording?

Thanks for your support!

Maybe you could give us a hint what interface you're looking at. DSP can mean a lot of things. Most likely it refers to DSP-based low latency input monitoring but without more info that's just a guess.

Sorry, forgot to mention it. This is the interface I was talking about : Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP vs Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 . I can't post links yet :)

The DSP version appears to offer some effects in the monitors during tracking, such as eq, compression and reverb. The website seems to indicate that the reverb would not be printed to the track (which is good) but is just for monitoring. I didn't get whether the other effects were meant to be part of the recorded track or just for monitoring. I would hope it's just for monitoring because they could be done better after tracking in most cases.

It also claims to be able to simulate monitoring on speakers for users who have to mix in headphones. That could either be really handy (but probably not a true replacement for speakers) or a disaster depending on how well it's implemented.

Having dap is very nice it means you can have your band or clients practice without even opening your daw I'd say it's worth it if only for tracking make sure nothing you do prints to your daw.
