new drum and vocal method.. any mix thoughts would be cool.. are the vocals out? rip em apart if you must! and how do the drums sound so far? I still have to add more cymbals (I think)

thanks if you bother!

it's a rock song..

some real nice drum samples there.
just as good as the real thing... I tend to like a little more verb on the drums to put them a little farther back... just preference
im also not a drum guru as you know, so take that for whats its worth

a cool jam.. nice job!

guitar sounds are reminisent of a few great guitarists... also nice job there!

ok, give it up. what are the drums? they sound freakin great! those are NOT the td8. Drumkit from Hell perhaps??

I was just about to sell my v-kit but.......maybe there is hope?

vocals are perfect level imo! in fact this whole thing sounds awsome on my home stereo. i'll be back after i check on my monitors. but in the meantime WHERE DID YOU GET THE DRUM SAMPLES??????

i love that guitar sound.

Song is cool man and the drums sound great.Im gonna have to dump the SR16 and get into loops.LOL.I've been following your thread over in the newbie forum and Ive downloaded ACID Express and N-Tracks..I can loop in n-tracks pretty effortless but I havent tried Acid yet.

Does Acid support wav file format and will it save the project as Wav?I guess I shoud ask this over in the newbie thread.:D

Anyway, you're getting a good drum sound with these loops man.

I dig the vocals on this one too.

hey there kramer

Acid does support waves and Acidized waves which are waves that contain information about the track... such as tempo and such

yeah... those are some groovy drum samples... where'd ya get em?

I liked the change-up at the end (tempo change)... very energetic.

Mix sounds fine.

Baaaah humbug I hate sampled drums!

No seriously-I work my butt off trying to record a kit-and it usually sounds like shite-and then I hear these perfect sounding samples baaaah...They sound great-cool the way the toms roll across the stereo spread-snare was nice and snappy. Theres something about the ambience of the drums that kinda bothers me-they seem to stand out from the rest of the track-maybe a little room verb-might make it sound more like a band playing together......and maybe not. Vocals sound great-though the melody didnt really grab me-I guess your not using that digitech gizmo?(on vocs)---guitars sound great as per usual-really cool solo towards the end-I was diggin that. I'm gonna listen to this some more-if I got any thing else to say I'll be back.

How do you crank out so many tunes man? Has the snow on the Island got you stuck inside?

Thanks for the info Jeff!;)

Not really my sorta thing normally but I really like this, gave me the "standing neck hair" wossname, in places. I think it's the almost violin like harmonies on the geetar :) The drums sound a little too forward and clean I think, but a touch more verb should sort it, perhaps a bit of a tape plug on the snare. I like the main vocals but from 2:24 the vocals aint my thing. They sound good tho. Drums sound much like dfh. Especially the toms.

Nice.

Sounds cool Sam, my ears are too fried right now, and by the time they aren't, you'll have changed the mix or deleted the thread so I'll just say that the drums are an improvement, but need remixing. I think the pan of the toms is too much, particularly for this tune. And they do need a bigger room.

But there's no denying this is yet another smokin tune. Vocals sound great, but maybe a bit too processed for this. I'd like this one more raw. Actually there's a lot of your stuff I'd prefer more raw (natural) now that I think of it...so take it with a grain of salt. :)

This would be a killer live tune. And you know you'd love to.

I like huge panning on toms...fun for headphones, and it just makes everything sound bigger to me. I like the chorus a lot...almost sounds like you're gonna' come over into a major scale for a second...but alas. LOL. I don't like that you used the processed git for the solo @ 2:36. I'd have liked a straight solo for the first part of it, before it collapses into synthness at least...but we're pretty different, LOL.

nice vocal

fucki wish i could that cool wah -ish killer thing on guitar that this starts out with.....wow your vocals sound different to me ...more "mainstream" gasp!....lol....i mean that in a good way.."YOU WANT IT"..THAT PART ROCKS.

to me the drums seem too jumpy all the tom stuff ....
i like the change tho...around 2:00...cool.

ok lemme listen some more and im sure ill have more...

jamal

good sounding drums....i liked the tom panning.....it was a bit wide to seem "natural", but it was great for effect.....a bit more verb on the drums.....

vocals are killer....i really like this vocal......

please please give up the secret of these drum samples........

drums loops are good. I`d like to hear it thump and whack a little more on the kick and snare. Toms sound lively. Vocals are thick, maybe a little more mid to bring em out more. I like hearing the "big" chords using 2 or more instruments to make em. :)
Do you chain that guitar to a porchrail when your not picking it? Thats a mean bitch!

Alright, gonna give it a rested listen :)

Actually ya maybe the wide toms do work for this. I actual like the vocal sound better this listen too. I just shouldn't listen to tunes after mixing. I start applying one mix to another.

This motors right along nicely...I could go for just a touch more of the rhythm guitar. Vocals got balls for sure. Nice job Sam!

sheeesh! you can really crank em out man! This thing rocks! Drums sounded soooooo nice. Only thing I didn't like was the warbling effect on the guitar. But hey, I'm from Wisconsin.

Wow!Awesome!Great piece of writing.I loved the tempo change late in the song! Also really dug the spacey synth about 3:10 or so!Couldn't really hear the bass guitar, but that might be my shitty monitors or the bass just being tight w/the guitars(or both).
Drums really kicked ass!Kudos!

Hey Sam,

yeah man, clean drums. ........so out with it damnit.... what are they. They sound damn good. Vocs sound good here. I really dig the higher register vocs, where youre pushing it a little.
........what are you saying? ......"suck liquor" ......? :D Cool tunage man, I dug it a lot!

I liked the song and your vocals sounded good. The bass was a tad heavy. I liked the drum sounds you got. I liked the stereo toms. The snare could of been brought out a little more. Other than that the song was very creative and well done. Your vocals are clearer and improving. (Im ready to give up vocals)....

Drums done in Acid with Steve smith samples? IS that Steve Smith of Journey? Anyway, Is this method your using very difficult opposed to programming a drum machine( Im getting real tiard of doing)? How actually are you doing it. I have Acid 4 but havent really gotten into using it yet.
