hello !

Im totally new to midi and I have a little dilema I have a bass drum track recorded from a live session as a .wav which is spot on for timing, but sound-wise its not great.

Im wondering if there is any way to convert this sound file to some kind of midi file so that i can send it to my Roland Juno-D Keyboard and trigger one of the bass drum sounds on there, so essentially I could record a bass drum track from my Juno-D

And if this is possible, how do I do it ?

I use Cool Edit Pro 2

Soundcard is a Tascam US-122

Also have Digital Ear (wav to midi convertor)

any advice would be massively appreciated
and sorry in advance if this is a dumb question

thanks

thanks man

my soundcard acts as the interface, the tascam us122 has midi in/outs

so thats that bit sorted atleast hehe !

Can anyone give my a step by step idiots guide to :

> making the midi file from the drum track

> sending the midi to the keyboard and having it play the correct sound

> sending the signal back to the computer

> recording that signal

Take your question to the midi forum (right above this one on the main page), I'll bet you get a hundred answers. Well, that might be an exaggeration, but I know you'll find the answer to your question!

my Roland Juno-D Keyboard
How's the Juno D ? I'm looking at getting one, based on price and midi features.

When you play MIDI's, how are the corresponding sounds ?

Can you play any of the patches via MIDI ?

What are some of the better sounds / patches ?

How is the arpegiator feature ? Can they be saved as midi ?

That's all I can think of for now.
