Hey, i didn't know whether to put this in midi or cubase, but since i'm running it strictly in Cubase and i believe the problem is more centered around Cubase than the vst, i'd post it here.

I'm using Cubase LE 4, and recently i came across a nice looking drum sequencer vst. I opened it in an instrument track and everything was running smoothly, i programmed my beats, and then i realized i had a problem. I wasn't able to bus the instrument track into the audio track to record the output from the sequencer, and since i wasn't penciling in midi steps, i was lost. Can anyone lend me a hand as to how to get the drum sequencer recorded into the audio track?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks so much!

I guess I'm not following, you have a drum vsti like ezdrummer or something, and you have a midi track which outputs to the vsti, right? When you play the project, do you hear the audio from the vsti? What vsti are you trying to use?

I use Cubase 5. Im not 100% sure for LE4 but try this anyway.

After i program drums with groove agent one vst, i bounce the midi to audio:

1- Set the timeline markers from the begening of the drum part to the end.

(You might have to create a stereo track. And arm it for recording. I would solo the vst and this audio channel)

2- Click on "File" then "Export" then "Audio Mixdown".

3- Select the file type you want to save it as (eg wav, mp3)

4- Name the drum part and choose the save destination.

5- select the stereo output channel.

6- Then click ok or export or whatevert option you have.

Probably for you using le4 it will play the song in real time. After its finished a stereo track should appear with the part.

Hope this helps.
