Hey Guys,

I tried the Drum Mic technique in this thread:https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=39030

Well I got great results from it but I was wondering how you guys would recomend EQ'ing the mix. Everytime I fool around with it I get to much low end and the snare looses its snap or I get to much high end and the kick looses its thump. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

Basically, if you need to do a bunch of EQ-ing, you didn't get all that great of results. Are you mixing on a DAW? If so, what plugins do you have? About all you can do is play around with some compression and EQ to try and get a sound that works with your mix. Try rolling off the low end on your overhead mics to reduce the boominess. If your room was dead sounding, you may need to add some high EQ to your snare and overheads. First try some EQ cuts in the mid-range to see if that clears things up.

I think cutting out some of the midrange cleaned the mix up. Thanks!
