drum placement in a room?

angled will probably sound better, but try both ways. if it's a huge pain in the butt to pivot your drums then you'll know your drumset is way too big.
 
Probably angled if you're not able to set them a bit farther into the room. I think right up against the wall will give you some grief with micing, tho. But experiment around and see what sounds best to your ears.

Uh, option 3, middle of the room. Well that's what I'd do anyway. Then use a decent amount of diffusion on the walls.
