Drum Modules: Alesis DM5? Or other suggestions?

Hey guys,

I am looking for some input regarding quality drum modules. I am not a drummer, the unit would only be used for recording purposes, and I'm looking for something better than drum sounds that came with the Korg M1 (circa 1990?), that really aren't too bad. Style is Rock/Prog to Classical orchestration (or attempts at. Only reason I know of the Alesis stuff is that an old drummer friend used to trigger from a D4, with pretty good results. So I figure the DM5 is still pretty good, and at a fairly reasonable price.

Any recommendations?

Do you need drum "sounds", or a drum "machine", by machine I mean one that has patterns already, stores patterns etc. ?
