drum module question

How is the Alesis dm5 compared to the d4. All I want to use the drum module for is to trigger a bass drum sounds for a recording situation. The sound I'm looking is a cross between Fear Factory and Pantera bass drum sound. If I can get the same bass drum sound out of either one, then I'd prefer to get the cheaper one. Thanks for the help.

Well the difference is some sounds and about
a couple hundred dollars. I own a d4 it has a lot early ninteys 'rock' sounds, which is funny because electronic was frowned upon by alterno-punk-grudge music. Anyway, the D5 is basically the same as the 4 I think the quality is a little above the d4, but not really much. But I wouldn' t recommend either units for your specific musical needs.

The D-5 is a much better sounding unit. It has a better variety of sounds. I used one on a session for a band that is doing a similar sound as you want. It worked okay. I own a D-4. It is okay too, but the D-5 definately had better sounds. More realistic.
