Drum module hookup

I just snagged an Alesis DM5 and need to hook it up. Can I run it straight into my computer (MOTU 1296 box) or do I need to run it to a preamp first?

The output of the DM5 is already at line level so you will not require a preamp to operate it. You would benefit from the use of one however for some applications. So it can be used with or without.

Whoa, déja vu. I just answered this same question from someone else yesterday.....

The outputs of the DM5 are line level, so yes, you can go directly into your interface.
