Hi I am thinking about purchasing some mics for drums.I will use them for both live and recording.I just want some feedback on the sennheiser E602(kick) and the sennheiser E605 for toms .Has any one got these or used them.Particularly the kick mic I have used the 605s and like em but just a bit concerned about the kick mic. Any help would be great

The e602 is one of the best mics I've ever used for kick drums - I haven't got one yet, but I have used my school/college one a lot.

I've never heard of the e605 - Do you mean the e604? If you do, then theres not many better tom mics around. I like to use it sometimes as a snare mic too, although a lot of people use Sm57's. I've got two of these mics and have always been very happy. They're great for brass and sax too.

You shouldn't have any problems with then live, in Britain they're fast becoming a medium sized club/venue standard for drum mics.

I just said this on another thread. The 602 works for me.

the sennheiser drum mics are great.
imho the best in that price range.

Senheiser e602 - Great punch, great versatility, great price. I own one and it has been nothing but grande.

Im also gonna get me a few e604s myself. Ive never really heard these in the studio, but ive heard them a couple of times live, and i really liked what i heard. It would be nice to have them for my live setup also.

I have and e602, but haven't had a chance to actually use it on a kick drum yet. I have tested it, though, and I was impressed by how quiet it was. And how cool it looks, which doesn't really matter but it doesn't hurt either.
