My brother (a drummer) is going to buy a set of drum mic's. They are Cad Pro 7's. I noticed they contained 2 mini stick condensers. Would these be any good for recording acoustic guitar or have they been made for drums?

Sweet! So (different sorta topic) say I wanted to record my acoustic-I get a mixer, plug the 2 mics in, put one at the soundhole and one at the 12th fret or whatever, press record-would I get a stereo sound of the guitar? Sorry is this is too vague, I have little knowledge of recording with mics! :)

... what would you press record on?

a tape deck, a computer, etc

Sorry, should have said-a computer. Presumably I would run the mixer through my audio interface.

sorry im asking you 20 questions but what is your audio interface

better yet why dont you just make a list of all your gear..... its fun :D

:) Ok sure, but I have much gear (or money!)

-M-audio Fast Track interface (1 1/4" jack, 1 XLR input and 2 RCA[?] inputs [the red and white ones :p])

-Behringer headphones

-FL Studio (where most of my work goes down)

-Behringer V-Amp (soon! Just need a psu. I've been using a cheap Zoom fx pedal so far)

Thats very basically it. I know, I know I need monitors and stuff but I haven't been at this game that long and I'm learning all the time so ya know...

Thanks in advance

just pick up this mixer for like 50 bucks on ebay (or just buy it new: Behringer 1202

then yes you can plug your 2 mics into the mixer and use the outputs on the mixer to your audio interface...... then you know the rest from there

Good Luck!

Thanks that made things a lot clearer!

Nick, I heard Behringer mixers arn't really that good. Would it really be worth buying this one?

Also, by what means would I connect the mixer to my interface? 1/4" cable? RCA cable?

Thanks in advance

i would do RCA because you said the 1/4" is mono

ummmm i would just buy that mixer because its really cheap
and has all the stuff you need but if you want to spend more money (i dont know what your limit is) then you could probably get a small yamaha mixer
