Sorry I Posted this in the keyboard section by accident...

Hello i am slowly gonna start building myself a kits up, i am getting a new computer soon and am gonna work from there(slowly buy more equip.). i was jsut wondering i have downloaded a few drum samples as in single hits, like single kicks and snares etc and have tried creating loops using cool edit but i cannot create a good sounding drum loop from the samples, i was wondering and i know this is gonna sound stupid that with a standard drum machine, can you program them all in while you are working instead of having to move samples around a computer screen or do u still have to sample each note, kick or snare hit by hit...?

thanks sam...

I don't think Cool Edit is all that brilliant for creating drum loops anyway. Hardware drum machines and sampler/sequencers are alright for the job if you're producing hip-hop, but you'll still need effect modules to breathe some life into your loops. Otherwise, they don't really cut it in the studio. If you're working on a computer, I'd suggest getting something like Fruity Loops. It's a good, versatile piece of kit, and with a bit of practise, you can make some impressive drum loops with it
