this is the last piece I will upgrade in my HRS, so whats hot, what has the best sounds, the most sounds and so on. Whats the top of the line, and the bottom and why? I like working with cakewalk to do my drum beats, so im not accustomed to loops and such. Suggestions?

??????

was this the wrong place to post this? 13 people have no imput?

i typed a big long response and it clunked out on me....be patient waiting for replies because posters are lacking it....:D

i would suggest a sequencer/sampler instead of the traditional "drum machine"...more versatile.....whats your price range?......

also since you like doing it in Cakewalk you could continue the software route, maybe Fruity Loops and Acid.....get some good samples and you are set.....there are alot of pro quality CD samples out there, and some good ones even float around here.....

old dog likes old tricks......

I have seen the fruitysite and such. Ill be perfectly honest, I have been accustomed to working with a drum machine for the past 10 years, its my prefered choice for making my own drum tracks and so I would like to stay with this mediam. So im looking for the BEST drum machine I can get, BEST meaning SOUNDS. as for the money, I have about 800-1000 bucks to spend.

Im sure....

Its a nice unit for what it does. I simply refuse to lock myself into using patterens. I enjoy making my own drum beats as much as making music. So Ill either get the DM pro or the DM 5

That is precisely what is sooo great about the QY-70. It is a pattern based 8 part machine and also has an integrated 16 track linear sequencer. So you can tap beats out in real time and get that mechanized feel off your music. Ignore the tempo and record drum parts in real time.
