I have HS2004 wth an M-audio 1010lt and have been recording guitar only on several tracks-No problems
I just added a Zoom MRT-3 drum machine that is set to run with a clock start. I am using input monitoring.

How can I stop the midi from turning this thing on during playback?

Since I hooked this drum machine up i've had problems with my mouse. It gets jumpy like its sucking up resourses. The only thing that is USB is the mouse.

Can Anybody help with these 2 problems

Thanks
Mike

What software are you using?

I'm pretty sure that you can tell just about any software package not to send out MIDI data if you don't wish to.

I do want to send midi data during record but not during playback.

Mute all MIDI tracks before playback. If you're talking about bunch of MIDI track, then gourp the "mute" of MIDI tracks. Right click on "M" on every MIDI track, and assign them to same group (eg. red or green)...

Why don't you find the setting on the drum machine that tells it not to listen to MIDI messages? Or turn off auto start. I'm not familiar with your gear, but maybe it's worth a shot.

You know, if the MRT-3 is anything like the 323 (which is what I have), you could always just power it off.

It takes no time to warm up, so when you need it again you can have it ready again in an instant.
