This is my first post, so hope I'm not covering really old ground.
I've been recording with Roland gear for a few years (880EX and 1824cd), using various drum machines for drum tracks. I'm OK with the sounds, and I'm fairly good at programming, but since everything else on the trax are "real" performances (guitar, vox, keys, bass, etc.), I wan't real drums as well, not the "quantized to death" sound of the drum machine.
I've heard some of you using Discrete Drums and other loops. My basic quesion is given the gear I'm using, what is the best way to get "real" drum performances into my roland for my drum tracks? Limitations? Flexibility? Other gear needed? Thanks
