Hi, guys

I want to record qualitative drum cover on my Tama Starworks Drum Set. I'm gonna shoot video with my camcorder and record drum set sound with mics, then synchronize them into one videoclip.
The questions are how many mics I need? What techniques I should use to get clear drum sound? And what mics you can advise me to record drum kit with?

Thank you in advance :)

Hey Push don't be sorry we are all learning, just at different levels. Drum recording is a common theme, as it should be.

Be sure to check out Greg_L's tutorial on recording drums. He covers it all and it is a sticky in the Drum forum right here at HR.

peace,

Sorry......

Dude, it's cool! :) I thought the same thing when I first started. There's plenty of articles around here to get you started! But remember, there is no better teacher than first-hand experience, and that means a bunch of playing around with mic positions/number of mics/drum heads/etc.

And welcome to HR :D

Sorry......

An Ethiopian friend, when I diplomatically apologized to her, turned to me and said "Where I come from, 'Sorry' is just a word with a big hole in the middle.....". We had loads of rows after that but I never apologized again ! :D
