Hello,

My band has a gig coming up this weekend and I haven't had much experience with tesing out different heads and how they each differ live. My band's sound is along the lines of Deftones/Hard Rock sound and I was just wondering what would be the best heads to obtain deep sounding toms and in a pretty small room. Coated or Clear? Evans, Remos? Help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi I have been playing for about 20 years and for live applications with rock bands(my only type of experience) you cant go past remo pin stripes. They are very durable (I once had a set on for 2 years)they have a great rock tone are easy to tune. Having said that the vast range of single ply heads out there makes any other choice very hard.OH use a remo power stroke 3 on the kick with no damping in the drum and slam the pisser out of them so the suond guy has some gain to play with.

I agree that Remo Pinstripes are very good heads for the type of music you play. Evans G2's would be equally as good.

I would agree with the Pinstripes or the G2. You won't be dissapointed.
