Ok heres the situation. Our drummer quit yesterday just a few weeks before we were going to start working on our new recording. I used to drum for the band years ago and I still have a nice set of tama rockstars, so I figure I might as well do the drums for the recording, as the beats arent anything I cant play.
The only problem is that its been a while since I've played drums and I tried "being the drummer" at practice and I was way sloppy and my stamina was lacking. Basically I'm really rusty.
Anyway, What are some good drum exercises to get me back into drumming shape? I brought my bass pedals home so I can set them against something to practice my pedal skills and speed, but what else should I do? What makes good quiet home made practice pads?
