One day challenge. Whenever I do a cover, I try to do everything in one day. Doesn't always work out that way, but this time it did.

DREAM ON (Aerosmith cover)

As usual:

Vocals: RAMI
Drums: RAMI
Bass: RAMI
Guitars: RAMI
Piano: RAMI

:)

Excellent cover Rami, from vocals to instruments. Amazing for one day's work too!

I'm trying RAMI but I can't get the thing to play... probably one more thing this awful old work browser won't do.... :cursing:

Shame, always liked that song. Might try from home later.

I've been busy working on my own version of Pain by Numbers. :) Haven't had a chance to listen to your completed version yet. Actually, listening to it now; came on after Dream... Anyways, weekends are always slow around here.

Ya gotta give Steven Tyler a lot of credit for hitting those notes in the Dream On (7x) section. and I give you a lot of credit for putting it out there. I couldn't do it.

Everything sounds great par norm. You're putting the SG to good use. I almost bought the same one yesterday at GC. About the same price I think.

I've got nothing to suggest to improve the mix. It's the golden standard for this place. Maybe that's why no one comments. Put out some crap music next time and we'll talk. :laughings: (and if it's a contest, I'll win that one.)

Cool man, don't get discouraged.

Maybe this will work easier. A direct download:

Thanx alot Chili. I edited my post, probably while you were typing. It wasn't the place for a rant like that.

It's all good, man. I appreciate the comments and compliment.

Yeah, I know mine are weaker. He is a great singer, and I didn't realize how high that part was. I knew it was high, but didn't realize that it was more than just a scream. It's is way way up there. I did what I could. That kind of thing is definitely not my forte. :)

Indeed it does! Thanx...

Loving the ever so slight break upon the clean guitar, just like the original... :D

Excellent job as always RAMI.... and I was very curious as to how you'd handle those "falsetto scream" dream ons at the end. Nicely done.

My only beef is that you didn't launch into One Way Street immediately afterwards... :cursing::D

My Aerosmith journey started at Rocks, then went back to the debut, a cassette copy of Toys and then I bought the next few albums, which were of mixed quality, and I totally bailed out of them when they went pop-ish... I do have Night in the Ruts as well, and Live Bootleg..

Ah, mammaries... :thumbs up:

Wow, holy CRAP! That's really good. At first I thought the rhythm guitar was a bit low but towards the end it came through a bit better? My hearing??? Anyway, forget that. Very well done!!!! I really enjoyed it.

Only one problem I can hear in your cover. . . I can understand all the words :D

Thanx Armi. I've always loved Aerosmith, until they started sucking, which has been about 20 years now. The last good album was "Pump", in my opinion, and even then they were flirting with suckiness with "Love in an Elevator". But that album does have other great tunes.

Hey thanx a lot SS.

Funny, I'm actually going to probably re-sing a couple of lines that I find I did pronounce too clearly. The whole "I know everybody sin, you got the lose to know how to win", I sang really sucky with my pronounciation. :)

Excellent! Enjoy it a lot.... was waiting to hear how you pulled off the screaming at 3:30 and it was amazing

That's pretty bad ass for one day's effort.

The guitars and shit sound great. That intro sound dead nuts to the original version.

I'm always gonna be honest with you dude, and you're on of my favorite HR guys, so I gotta say with 100% respect that I think you missed it a little on the vocals. Now I know this is an all time classic sung by one of the all time great rock singers, and I wouldn't even attempt to try this song on my best day - not even a goofy Gregpunk version, so massive kudos for that. I just think the vocals sound a little timid in the verses, like you were unsure and held back a little. They seem flat to me in spots. The choruses are much better. I'm a big fan of your vocals and you always kill it, so this stood out for me. Maybe because this song is so immediately recognizable that any deviation from the original sticks out. I don't know. That's just how I'm hearing it. I don't think I'm being unrealistic in knowing that you could do it better if you weren't knocking it out in one day, so I am aware of that. For one session, it's awesome. With maybe a few more tries, I'm sure you'd do it better.

But I think the mix is pretty great. I think the snare could come up some. All the guitar tones are awesome.

It's always tough to follow Greg with a comment ... for he always nails it. STILL -- this was an incredible, and accurate effort. Very impressive, Rami.

Thanx man. I appreciate that you took the time to listen and comment.

Thanx a lot Greg. Hey, you never have to explain any critiques you have. That's why we're all in this part of the forum. I can, and probably will, re-do most of the vocals. I wasn't being timid. In fact, I feel pretty comfortable with the verses, and I know I can do them better. One problem, like I mentioned before, is that I was too "neat" with my vocal delivery. I need to slur it and Tyler it up a little more. I'll do better when I re-do them. I'm glad everything else sounds ok. Thanx man.

Thanx a lot, K.

Big Aerosmith fan. Favorite album is Get Your Wings, all of it.

You doing this really takes some balls. I think your voice is not close to the original (would be impossible to do), but it is close to the spirit and sounds very good. I suggest just f'in going for it in the same vain and take a few liberties within the frame work you've set out. You have the chops and it really is a very good cover.

I wasn't going to listen as I just expected cringing results. Some songs just can't be redone. After reading the comments I had to give it a run. Really was surprised, very good result.

I was reading through the comments as I was listening, and I thought Greg was right on. I thought the vocal delivery was a little tentative. And the screamo thing is just really tough. I wouldn't even attempt it.

The instrument tracks sound fantastic and really close to the original.
