Okay, once again I have to admit; I didn't get a chance last night to REALLY dig in and try to figure this out, I spent most of my time bouncing vocal tracks from my MR8 to PC, mixing down, splitting the mixed down .wav, and then bouncing back. Then it was time to tend to the childrens.

Descriptions I have found in this forum, I'm guessing were based on older versions of N ('02-'03), because I couldn't find some of the buttons they referred to in the tool bar. As I said, I couldn't devote much time to the search last night...

How do you draw volume/effect envelopes in versino 3.3?
Is it the same for version 4._._?

Thanks.

Well, I can try to help out with version 4...and maybe see if you've got the same things in 3...

In 4, the default is set to the button that looks like a mouse pointer. 2 buttons to the left of that is a button with a big triangle--the volume envelope button. Hit it, and a green line appears in the center of your tracks. You can click on the line for an edit point, and then drag it up or down for instant volumearamagratificationismness.

If that doesn't work, try switching out your pickups to Seymour Duncans, and solder an XLR cable straight into the coils. That way, you can just run it right through a Behringer Shark arc-welded directly to your monitors. What kind of mic stands are you using?

Yeah, it's late...

I was using Dimarzio pickups, but think I might research some Behringers instead. I've heard they build a mean Seymour clone.

I recently had a kind of stunt (sp?) installed in my neck, which is actually a female XLR connector, bypassing any need for that nasty soldering business. This, along with copper/nickel implants in my fingertips has eliminated that "weak link" in my signal which so many people contribute major $'s to in the form of expensive cabling.

It's early, and I'd probably still fail a blood/alcohol test.

Oh yeah, thanks.

Hopefully it'll work for you. But I've been telling people for years that if you're not using Focusrite tube-enhanced pickguards that are RCA'd directly into an Alesis Picoverb, then you're never gonna get that Kip Winger sound no matter how many patchbays (half-parallelled-unnormalled-bipolar, obviously) you try to route through your headstock. Good luck!
