I'm trying to get this to sound more "realistic" (seeing as how I can't paly real drums for shit :) )

What is my best bet?

Do I record each part by itself and add effects...(ie...snare one track...kick another track...everything else another track...I have done this, it is a pain in the ass)

Or should I really just record the part as one, and stick some effects on the whole thing.

Either way in my experimentation so far, it isn't sounding well enough for me to be satisfied.

I am just wondering if anyone has suggestions from previous experience on the best way to get this machine sounding as real as possible.

I have never found a drum module that sounded real.
It is a good idea though to track each piece seperate and add in EQ where you need it. It also gives you the option of setting levels and pan position for each piece. Use humanization or set a few notes here and there just a tick off to make it sound human and not machine. Once you get it the way you like it, bounce to a final if you like.

I posted this in the wrong forum whoops!!!

No matter, thanks for the reply.

I wanted to post this in the recording techniques actually :o . Anyhow, back to plugging away with this thing.
