okay, i own a akai dps16, ive been doing everything on it so far. my brother just purchased a computer, amd 2100ghz processor, 512 ddr ram, 40 gig hard drive, gforce video card. we have a bundled sound card, so i am looking for a good soundcard.
since i own a dps16 i wanted something compatible, not necessarily all out for a sound card because i can do my mixing and recording on the dps, i want something so i can use my computer as a master recorder and to do sound processing via plugins.
i can export tracks as wave onto cd, but i would like to try send/return, and hook up midi for automation.
i do not think i need a break out box, im just looking for something to transfer my tracks from my dps16 and to monitor.
my dps16 has 4 aux send/return, two master outs, and one digital out and one digital return. ive never used digital outs before so im unsure how they work but ive learned that i can transfer my tracks to the computer with no need for converters, just digital ins and outs.
some one please help me and lead me in the right direction
i would like midi as well. price is no option, however since i already own a daw, the sound card does not neccessarily need to be expensive, i.e. i really dont need a sound card so i dont want to spend alot. thanks
