As far as I understand it, the DP-04 has a 40gig built in hard drive, and does not use flash memory. Are you talking about a DP004 and a DP002? If you are, I can tell you that the DP004 does have limited track editing capability, but you would be better off transferring WAV files and doing the editing in a real computer, particulaty as the DP004 has no EQ onboard. As to whether they can read each others SD cards, you'd have to ask Tascam, but I doubt it, because of differences in how the cards are formatted, and the files partitioned. I was actually considering upgrading my KORG PXR4 Pandora to a DP004, but it has too many design downsides, such as- no backlight on the display! I'll probably wind up with a Zoom H4.

The little Korg is a great machine, but it is obsolete now, because it doesn't export WAV or MP3 files, (only MP2, which is a useless format), and because it unfortunately uses Smart Media cards, which are no longer supported, and never got above 128mb. It also has only one mic in it, so you pretty much have to use an outboard stereo mic.-Richie
