Dp-24 memory--help!

I did a live recording that was quite long. I am unable to break it up into individual songs. I made a copy of the whole project, then used track cut to delete all material but one song. I then use the song menu "Delete Unused" audio. For some reason it still saves the song as 11 gigabyte which was the original length of the whole project!

HELP!
 
What happens if you save the edited project as a new project (new name) and delete the old one? The problem may be due to the undo levels in the project.
