I KNOW I've seen this here, but haven't been able to locate the information this time.

I have a DP-O1FX that I'd mothballed after buying a Neo (which I love), but got out the old unit to do some mobile recording. I wanted to assign an effect to a guitar, and I can't get it to show up on the recording. I have the effects section ON, and (I think) assigned to input A. The selector switch is set to 'guitar'. When I play the guitar I hear the effect, but it isn't there when I play back the recording. I only get the dry signal. I'm pretty sure I ran into this a long time ago and fixed it based on reading a post here - but I can't find the post.

Any suggestions would be welcome. I have everything else working just fine. The only problem is getting the effect recorded. TIA.

Fixed, for now

I still don't recall how I fixed this before, but I managed to fix it again. This time I closed and saved the song, then worked on another for a bit. I switched off and unplugged the machine, then restarted and went back to the song. When I did, the effects were back. Some little glitch I guess. Anyway, it's nice to have the effects back. There are a few in particular (like the compression in Drums) that are useful across the board.

I abandoned the DP01FX as well when i got my 2488/2, but recently used it for a live 2 track recording as well as a slave to add 2 more tracks for live tracking. It's funny how going from 8 to 10 trax simul can free things up for a live session when some trax will be scratched anyway. Had to learn it all over, still a pretty cool machine.
