So my mixer stopped working today. I'm pretty upset about it ): that really limits what I can do as far as recording goes.

Has anyone ever had a piece of gear break down that was integral to recording? What do you do in the mean time?

My semester starts next week, so I'm going to just focus all my attention on school. I'm really mad I can't use my monitors right away, I just got them today. I also had 3 songs I planned on completing this week. Oh wells.. At least this gives me time to focus on writing music and lyrics for new songs (: I've been focusing a lot on recording lately lol

If it is important that you finish your work, I would ring around the music shops in your area and see if you can hire a mixer until yours is fixed.

Alan.

I could do that if it was super urgent, but it's not. If all goes well, I'll have a replacement sometime this week, anyway.

When I don't do anything in audio, I like to play video games hahaha. Trapping people in corners in MW is always fun. :laughings:

no one has asked but, what kind of mixer and what do you mean it stopped working?

It's pretty unusual for a mixer to just totally quit working. It's virtually always a few things that go first.
Might be an easy fix

I have my suspicions about a thunder storm that happened last night, it could have friend it's circuits. It's a Peavey PV8 USB mixer. When I powered it on, the lights were very dim, and then faded out.

Catch up on TV programmes that I've recorded but not had time to watch. Or I wait. The vulture is a patient bird.
