I have a lexicon reverb unit. I always doubling up my vocals when recording, should I have reverb on the main verse as well as the double?? I thought it might be too much reverb and muddy up the vocals..any help would be appreciated

No easy answer there - Experimentation is the ticket.

No correct answer either :) .. I tend to use *reduced* effects on all non-featured vocals.. including overdubs (and I create one track with all the "featured" takes).

You might even like only putting reverb on the backing track.

One more vote for experimentation. One thing I try sometimes is to use a characteristically different reverb on the diferent parts. This adds some nice texture and helps to seperate the vox parts. You may also try just shortening the decay time on the back vox (or main vox who knows) to add ambience without mud.

Good luck.
